During the last ten years, Seth has lived and worked in areas with unique biodiversity and cultural values, following his passion for environmental conservation and building a career at the intersection of private sector investment, forest conservation, and biodiversity protection. While working for the boutique hospitality management firm La Paz Group, Seth assessed conservation tourism initiatives in Croatia, Jordan, India, Chile, Nicaragua, the Galápagos Islands, and Belize. He also served as co-manager of an off-grid lodge in Baja California Sur, Mexico and completed a management rotation program at a small resort in Costa Rica. In between these sustainable hospitality projects, Seth built on previous work experience at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to serve on several avian research teams, searching for an endangered species of swallow in Jamaica, surveying breeding birds in the Intermountain West of the US, and investigating the impacts of fragmentation on forest birds in Rwanda’s newest national park.
Seth brings cross-cultural competency, field and desk research skills, and ecological know-how to his role at Climate Investment Partners, drawing on his professional background as well as strong academic coursework at the Yale School of the Environment, where he received his Master of Environmental Management. Seth also holds a B.A. from Cornell University and is joining CIP from his family business Organikos, a bird-friendly Costa Rican coffee company.
