Catherine Cax is an international investment executive with over 20 years of experience deploying more than US$500 million across emerging markets through private equity, private credit, blended finance, project finance, and climate-focused investment strategies. She has led investments across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the United States, mobilizing institutional capital to deliver strong financial returns alongside measurable social and environmental impact.
Most recently, Catherine served as Managing Director and part of the executive leadership team of the Soros Economic Development Fund, where she oversaw approximately US$500 million in assets under management and led investments in climate finance, energy transition, health equity, and inclusive development. She currently serves in leadership and governance roles with Nordic Compass, Climate Investment Partners, Aqua-Spark, and Delta40.
Catherine is recognized for her expertise in climate finance, impact investing, emerging markets, and organizational transformation. She holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and has extensive experience serving on boards and investment committees globally.
